PCR-501 is applied on polycarbonate lens and CR39 lens to produce photochromic effect. The coated lens has rapid color change properties in response to transition from indoors to outdoors and can lead to varied light transmittance when exposed to reactive light sources. The lens quickly returns to its original color when light source is absent. PCR-501 could be applied via dip coating or spin coating.
