UV3531-34 Dual-cure Hardcoat

  • Product Details

1. Characteristics

* Dual-cure process: semi-cured (thermosetting) by heat for further thermoforming processing; complete cure afterwards by UV will produce a coating layer with high abrasion resistance and hardness level on substrates such as PET, PC, PMMA sheet & film products.

2. Main composition and typical use

* UV3531-34 is a proprietary resin solution which pre-cures by heat and post-cures by UV. It is a blend of acrylic based polymer, monomer and thinner as coating sol, which cures by combination of heat and UV.

* anti-scratch and anti-abrasion protective hardcoating on PET, PC and PMMA sheet & film products.

3. Application Conditions

* Coating Process: applied by microgravure coating, slot die coating, flow coating or dip coating etc. RH below 60%; working temp. @ 20±2℃; cleanliness @ class 1000.

*Coating roller has to be free of dust or any other contaminants (cleanliness @ class 100); use the dust-removing roller before performing the coating job.

* Hardcoating sol preheating: up the sol temp. to 50-60 for lower viscosity and better leveling.

* Coating Line Speed @ 6-plus m/min for optimal coating leveling.

* Curing: pre-curing by infrared flash-off @ 120 for at least 2 min; post-curing under UV afterwards so as to achieve optimal coating hardness level and abrasion resistance.

* Coating liquid should be continuously recycled through filter (use 2 micron pore size or under).
